The Government of India, through the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has notified the Textiles – High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging or Filling (Quality Control) Order, 2020.

This Quality Control Order (QCO) makes BIS Certification ISI Mark mandatory for specified HDPE and PP woven sacks used for packaging food grains, sugar, and sand. The objective of the Order is to ensure product quality, durability, safety, and uniform standards across the packaging industry.

Manufacturers intending to manufacture, sell, or supply these notified products in India must obtain a BIS Licence under Scheme-I of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.


What is the HDPE & PP Woven Sacks (Quality Control) Order, 2020?
